At St. Jerome Academy we strive to provide a well-rounded education for our students, including offering care options for working parents.
Our Extended Care Program, or Before and After Care, is a reliable and convenient service for families needing supervised child care outside regular school hours. We are pleased to offer this program daily, from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. and from school dismissal until 6:00 p.m., providing plenty of time for working parents to drop off and pick up their children. The program is closed on school holidays, and a few other days are listed on this page.
Parents can rest assured that their children are safe with a team of trained and qualified adults staffing the center. Children enrolled in the program get outdoor playtime (weather permitting), daily homework/study hours, a snack, and an activity period on regular school days.
We are committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for our students, and our Extended Care Program is just one way we strive to achieve this goal. We look forward to welcoming your child and providing them with the care and support they deserve.

No Part-Time Care
Each family has unique needs, and we strive to accommodate them all. Our top priority is to provide affordable services that won't add financial stress to working families. At the same time, we value and support our hardworking staff members, so we have set our program costs accordingly.
Please note that we do not offer part-time care and our weekly fee applies regardless of how many hours are used.Late Pick-up Costs
We understand that sometimes life gets in the way, and unexpected delays like traffic or late meetings can make you late to pick up your child. However, we also value the time and efforts of our staff and want to make sure they can stick to their schedules.
Therefore, to be fair to everyone, please be prompt when picking up your child. If you happen to be late after 6 p.m., according to the front desk clock, a late fee of $1 per minute will be applied. This fee is paid in cash directly to the staff member on duty. -
Registration ProcessThis process should be completed by August 15th of each year. In some cases, we also offer enrollment during the school year.
To register for the Extended School Program, please complete ALL the following steps:
- Complete the Extended School Program Registration Form included in the information packet
- Complete a SEPARATE Emergency Contact Form for EACH child you are enrolling.
- Read the Maryland State’s Guide to Regulated Child Care & sign the Acknowledgement that you have read and reviewed the Guide to Regulated Care.
- Pay the Registration Fee of $60 per child.
- Make checks payable to St. Jerome Academy.
- Pay cash in person at the office
- Call the office to pay by credit or debit card over the phone
- Assemble the registration packet containing all the documents above, and mail or drop it off at the school office.
St. Jerome's Extended School Program registration process includes several forms statutorily mandated by Maryland state.
