At St. Jerome Academy, the first Friday of every month is a chance for our talented faculty to grow and learn through professional development. And let us tell you, the recent one was nothing short of amazing. Here's a glimpse of the action-packed itinerary that kicked off our year in the best way possible!
On a beautiful Friday morning, September 22nd, our dedicated teachers gathered at the church to start their day with Holy Mass and a Holy Hour.
Spiritually rejuvenated, they participated in thought-provoking and action-oriented breakout discussions, exploring Maria Montessori's method and SJA's Classical Educational Plan.
As the day progressed, the faculty set out to visit the National Gallery of Art, immersing themselves in the awe-inspiring collection of classical and sacred art. And to their amazement, they stumbled upon various paintings of our beloved St. Jerome, making the day even more special.
In addition to professional development day, our faculty meets several times during the academic year to strengthen the bonds of camaraderie, learn from each other's experiences, and finetune the execution of the Education Plan for St. Jerome Academy.
One faculty group is looking closely at the work and teachings of renowned Catholic philosopher Joseph Pieper in their faculty seminar.
